معرفی
Dr. Abigail Fiske is a Lecturer in Neuroscience and Psychology at Lancaster University, UK, and a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford until May 2025. Her research focuses on neural and cognitive development of executive functions in early childhood, utilizing functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). She holds a DPhil in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford (2019–2024), funded by an MRC iCASE award, and previously worked as a primary school teacher (2015–2019). Key affiliations include collaboration with the Fetal Infant Toddler Neuroimaging Group (FITNG) and Gowerlabs. Fiske’s work emphasizes inclusive neuroimaging practices and has been recognized with the 2024 BPS Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research.
Research Interests:
- Development of inhibitory control in infants and toddlers
- fNIRS neuroimaging techniques
- Longitudinal studies of executive function
- Neural correlates of cognitive development
Recent Contributions: Her 2023 NeuroImage study mapped neural correlates of inhibitory control across infancy to toddlerhood, while her 2024 DCN paper addressed inclusivity in neuroimaging research. Awards include the BPS Doctoral Research Award and an ICIS Honourable Mention.
Advising & Grants: MRC iCASE funding supported her doctoral research. Current collaborations include projects with the University of British Columbia and Yale University. Labs: Active member of the FITNG Trainee Committee and affiliated with Lancaster’s Department of Psychology.
