Dr. Abigail Coplin is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Science, Technology, and Society at Vassar College. Her research focuses on the intersections of science, politics, and nationalism in contemporary China, examining how non-democratic states like the Chinese Communist Party-state incorporate expertise into governance. She is co-appointed in Vassar’s Sociology Department and the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Program.
