Abhishek Kumar

Abhishek Kumar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Nanostructures and Functional Materials (NAFUMA) Group, Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo, Norway (2024–Present). He earned a PhD in Physics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in India (2019–2024) under the guidance of the Department of Physics, Institute of Science, BHU. His research focuses on functional materials for energy storage, particularly solid-state hydrogen storage systems using multicomponent high-entropy alloys (HEAs).

Abhishek’s work involves synthesizing materials via arc melting, induction melting, melt spinning, and ball milling, combined with advanced characterization techniques like XRD (JANA 2006), SEM, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, VSM, and PCT analysis. He investigates crystallographic structure, microstructure evolution, and hydrogen–material interactions under varying thermodynamic conditions. His interdisciplinary approach bridges condensed matter physics, materials chemistry, and sustainable energy research.

Key scientific contributions include fundamental insights into phase stability, configurational entropy-driven properties, and structure–property correlations in complex alloy systems. His awards include multiple CSIR fellowships and best presentation recognitions at international conferences like IWHEM-2020, ICDEMA-2021, and ICHEAM-2024.
