Abhay Deshpande

Abhay Deshpande is a SUNY Distinguished Professor at Stony Brook University and Associate Laboratory Director for Nuclear/Particle Physics at Brookhaven National Lab. He founded the Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Science and leads Electron Ion Collider (EIC) science initiatives. Research focuses on quark-gluon structure via RHIC, CEBAF, and future EIC experiments.

Publications address QCD dynamics, proton spin structure, and detector development for sPHENIX/PREX. Recognitions include APS/AAAS fellowships and RIKEN Prize.
