Abeyami Ortega Domínguez is an anthropologist and interdisciplinary scholar specializing in visual culture, social justice, and social movements, with a focus on race, gender, and sexuality. Currently affiliated with the University of Manchester as an Honorary Research Associate in Social Anthropology, she works across Latin America and the Global South to examine how visual and material cultures intersect with antiracist activism and the production of inequalities.

Her research spans topics such as the mestizo gaze in neoliberal Mexico, queer feminist antiracist artivism in Argentina/Peru/Colombia, and collaborative art practices in transnational activist networks.
