Catalina Delgado Rojas is an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Museology, Institute for Cultural Practices at The University of Manchester. She holds a PhD in Museology from the same institution, alongside MAs in Social Anthropology (University of the Andes) and Museology & Heritage Management (National University of Colombia). Her research focuses on symbolic reparations, transitional justice, and gender equity in cultural institutions, with a particular emphasis on Colombia’s post-conflict memorialization processes. She has contributed to projects like Fragments, the first memorial post-2016 Peace Agreement in Colombia, and currently administers the Comics and Race in Latin America research project.
Her work bridges academic and applied domains, including cultural management roles such as ResLife advisor and exhibition curation. Key areas of expertise include counter-monuments, museum ethics, and the role of cultural spaces in social healing. Over 30 publications and presentations address topics from gender representation in Latin American museums to the politics of memorialization during mass protests. She advocates for inclusive museological practices that center marginalized voices and foster participatory memory frameworks.
