Abenaa M. Brewster

Dr. Abenaa M. Brewster is a tenured Professor in the Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention within the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She maintains an adjunct appointment in Epidemiology and serves as Medical Director of the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center and Clinical Medical Director of the Department of Breast Medical Oncology.

Her research program integrates molecular epidemiology with clinical oncology to investigate breast cancer risk determinants. Key focus areas include tumor genomics, host genetic susceptibility, obesity impacts, and ethnic disparities in cancer outcomes. She pioneered frameworks for analyzing patient decision-making regarding preventive surgeries and directs longitudinal studies of high-risk populations.
