Abdelfettah Elkchirid is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University. His work focuses on marginalized communities including refugees, immigrants, and racialized groups. He holds expertise in trauma-informed practice, cultural competence in social work education, and child welfare in crisis contexts.

His research explores parenting under war and displacement, refugee family resilience, and decolonizing social work education. Recent studies examine immigrant children's mental health through arts-based interventions and Syrian refugee access to education in Lebanon.
