Abbas Al Haj Ahmad

Abbas Al Haj Ahmad is a Physics Lecturer at the University of Detroit Mercy, affiliated with the College of Engineering & Science. He joined the institution in April 2020. His teaching focuses on general physics courses for engineering, life science, and liberal arts students. He is located at the McNichols Campus, Chemistry Building, Room 19.

• B.S. in Fundamental Physics, Lebanese University
• Studies in Philosophy and Comparative Religion at Saint Joseph University, Lebanon

Research Interests: Abbas’s research centers on nano magnetism, particularly the theoretical and numerical analysis of magnetic spin states in Fe₈ single-molecular magnets (SMM). He also contributes to laboratory instruction for interdisciplinary students.

Additional Activities: Beyond academia, he creates educational science videos, engages in community volunteering, and participates in journalism and media initiatives.
