Ahmad M. Fard

Dr. Ahmad M. Fard is an Associate Professor and Director of Faculty Success Program at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. With over 25 years of experience in oral and maxillofacial prosthodontics and implant surgery, Dr. Fard directs oral and maxillofacial implants, fixed partial treatment planning and removable prosthodontics courses.

Dr. Fard's educational background includes:

• B.S. from University of Utah
• D.D.S. from Creighton University
• Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from University of Nebraska Medical Center
• M.S. in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from University of Nebraska Medical Center

Dr. Fard is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of American College of Prosthodontists. He is also a fellow of Academy of Osseointegration. His areas of expertise include Implant Surgery, 3-D Guided Implant Surgery, Crowns, Veneers, and Aesthetic Dentistry, 3-D Printing (Surgical Guides), Removable Prosthodontics: Dentures, and Post-Cancer & Congenital Defects Prostheses.

Dr. Fard has received many distinguished awards including the ADEA/Zimmer Implant award and multiple "Outstanding Didactic Faculty of the Year" awards from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Dr. Fard provides patient care in prosthodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry faculty practice. He serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals and is an international speaker on implant prosthodontics continuing education courses to practicing dentists and specialists.

His research focuses on dental implants, prosthodontics, and dental materials, with numerous publications in these areas. Dr. Fard has served as Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on multiple research projects related to dental implants, 3D printing, and CAD/CAM technology.

Dr. Fard has mentored numerous dental students, including Nick Ostrander, Fadi Mousa-Aqrawi, Kyle Radomski, Hayden Sutton, and Nupur Dixit. He has also worked with research colleagues including Frank E. Pink, Julie Marshall, Ann Marie Neme, Arthur Nimmo, and Sreenivas Koka.
