Aaron Richman

Aaron Richman, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He holds a medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Richman completed his General Surgery Residency at Boston University and a Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Fellowship at the University of Colorado/Denver Health Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Richman's research spans surgical education, trauma care, and critical care ultrasound. He has pioneered studies on residency application processes, trauma imaging protocols, and vascular trauma outcomes. His recent work includes quality improvement initiatives in inpatient care and thromboprophylaxis strategies in polytrauma patients.

His 20 most recent publications demonstrate expertise in rib fracture stabilization, venous thromboembolism, and vascular reconstruction. Articles frequently appear in Journal of Surgical Research, Journal of Vascular Surgery, and European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery.

Scientific accolades include Alpha Omega Alpha (2024), Gold Humanism Honors Society (2011), and HHMI Undergraduate Research Award (2006). He has served as Principal Investigator for a CSL Behring sponsored trial evaluating 4-Factor Prothrombin Complex Concentrate in traumatic injury.

Dr. Richman contributes to medical education through residency program innovations, including a structured wellness committee. He actively mentors through Boston Medical Center initiatives.
