Aaron Klappholz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, within the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science. He holds a PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania (1974) and a BS in Mathematics & Linguistics from MIT (1966).
His research focuses on Computer Science education and diversifying the undergraduate CS population. He has been actively involved in institutional service, including multiple roles on the CS Curriculum Committee, Undergraduate Advising, and as the sole CS minor advisor. He represented Stevens in CSNYC initiatives from 2015 to 2021.
Professionally, he contributes to conferences like the IEEE Conference on Software Engineering Education and Training (CSEE\&T), serving on steering and program committees. He advocates for minority scholarships and entrepreneurship through supervising CS Senior Design projects with entrepreneurial goals.
He is a member of ACM SIGCSE and has published on active learning techniques in CS education. His teaching spans courses like CS423, CS424, CS561, and CS574.
