Aaron Goldenberg

Aaron Goldenberg is a Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Bioethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences. He directs the CWRU Bioethics Center for Health and Genomics and contributes to the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center's Population and Cancer Prevention Program.

His research focuses on ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genomic technologies in clinical and public health settings, particularly for newborns, children, and rare disease populations. Key interests include:

• Community engagement in underrepresented research

Recent publications highlight global newborn screening frameworks, collaborative bioethics-neuroscience models, and equity in translational genomics. He actively shapes policy through leadership roles, including co-chairing the APHL Ethics, Legal & Social Workgroup, and has contributed to National Academies' workshops on consumer genomics and DNA sequencing ethics.
