Monica Nardini is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She is also a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor (LCGC) providing prenatal genetic counseling services at The MetroHealth System. Her academic and clinical work is deeply integrated with the CWRU Genetic Counseling Master’s Program, where she plays a key educational and administrative role.
Monica earned her MS in Genetic Counseling and MA in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University in 2013 and 2011, respectively. Her professional journey began at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2013–2016), where she practiced general and cancer genetic counseling. Since joining The MetroHealth System in 2016, she has taken on increasing responsibilities in training and education.
Her research and teaching interests center on genetic counseling education, clinical training, prenatal genetics, and bioethics. She has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum and clinical experiences for genetic counseling students, serving as the lead clinical rotation supervisor in prenatal genetics and as an education coordinator for OB/GYN residents and Maternal Fetal Medicine fellows.
Monica’s contributions to academic leadership include serving on student research committees and the CWRU Genetic Counseling Master’s Program Advisory Board. In 2020, she was appointed Director of Clinical Training, overseeing student rotations and evaluations. In 2025, she advanced to Associate Director of the Genetic Counseling Training Program, expanding her role to include coordinating the Clinical Genetics course and instructing in bioethics, with increased involvement in student mentorship and research guidance.
