Aaron Edlin is the Richard W. Jennings Professor of Law and Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds tenured appointments in both the School of Law and the Department of Economics. As Faculty Director of the Law, Economics, and Politics Center (LEAP) and Co-Director of the Law and Economics Program, he bridges academic and policy arenas. His expertise spans antitrust, law and economics, and entrepreneurship, co-founding the academic publisher bepress (now part of Elsevier).
- Education: A.B. Summa Cum Laude from Princeton University (1988), J.D. and Ph.D. from Stanford University (1993).
Edlin’s research focuses on antitrust law, industrial organization, and regulatory policy. He has contributed to leading journals such as the American Economic Review and Harvard Law Review, and co-authored a seminal antitrust casebook. His work informs policy, including roles on the Obama campaign’s competition committee and as Senior Economist at the Clinton-era Council of Economic Advisers.

He has held visiting roles at Stanford, Yale, Harvard, and other institutions. Edlin’s leadership includes editorial roles in major journals and upcoming presidency of the American Law and Economics Association.
