معرفی
Dr. Ashley Lyons is a Senior Lecturer in Ecology at Edge Hill University (EHU), with a focus on ecological restoration, grazing management, and biodiversity conservation in upland calcareous grasslands. Previously, they held roles at Liverpool Hope University (2019–2021) and the RSPB Centre for Conservation Science (2021–2023), where they led a £4.1M grant project for the Endangered Landscapes Programme and trained sheep using NoFence collars. Their research explores habitat management impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services.
- PhD (2017): Edge Hill University on grazing management in upland calcareous grasslands
- Postdoc: Produced first spider/carabid beetle conservation guidelines for upland grasslands
- Visiting Scientist (2018): Georg-August University, Germany, studying lowland grasslands
Research interests span grazing management strategies, biodiversity metrics in calcareous grasslands, and conservation science practices. Recent work highlights include prioritizing entomology research (2023), landscape biodiversity responses (2021), and spider assemblage dynamics under grazing (2018). Collaborations include multinational studies on grassland biodiversity and grant-funded projects like Cumbria Connect (2022–present).
