Dr. Tobias Frenzel is a postdoctoral researcher at the Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart, leading the Junior Research Group 'Insect Extinction' with a focus on macroecology and modeling of insect species distribution. His work addresses the urgent challenge of insect decline by analyzing how agricultural management practices affect arthropod biodiversity in cultivated landscapes.
Research Interests: Tobias investigates biodiversity patterns in agricultural ecosystems, emphasizing the role of fallows and non-crop habitats in sustaining insect and spider communities. His research combines field studies with ecological modeling to identify conservation strategies for threatened species.
- 2024 study on bee diversity in conservation areas
- 2022 work on beetle and spider conservation through fallow management
- 2021 analysis of ground beetle communities and grassland fallows
