Professor AHMET ŞEKEROĞLU is a distinguished academic in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at Niğde Omer Halisdemir University, specializing in Animal Production and Technologies with focus on Animal Breeding and Technologies. With over three decades of academic experience, he has held progressive positions from Research Assistant to Professor, demonstrating exceptional commitment to animal science education and research.
His educational background includes dual bachelor's degrees from Anadolu University (Economics, 1992-1996) and Çukurova University (Animal Science, 1983-1987), followed by a Master's degree (1994) and Doctorate (2002) from Gaziosmanpasa University, where his doctoral research focused on free-range egg production systems.
Prof. ŞEKEROĞLU's research interests span Animal Science, Poultry Science, Animal Breeding, Animal Welfare, Livestock Production, Beekeeping and Apiculture, Free-range Systems, Egg Quality and Production, Meat Quality and Production, and Animal Nutrition. His work addresses critical challenges in sustainable animal production, particularly in local Turkish breeds and alternative farming systems.
His extensive publication record shows a strong focus on poultry welfare, egg quality parameters across different housing systems, free-range production models, and beekeeping practices. His recent research (2023-2024) demonstrates particular expertise in comparative strain performance, housing system impacts, and the development of sustainable production methods that balance productivity with animal welfare considerations.

Prof. ŞEKEROĞLU has successfully supervised numerous graduate students across multiple institutions, with a current focus on poultry science, beekeeping, and small ruminant production. His leadership extends to significant administrative roles including Director of Research and Application Center, Member of Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments, and Department Head. His research projects, primarily funded by public institutions, focus on national breeding programs for local sheep breeds (particularly Akkaraman) and sustainable poultry production systems.
