Prof. AG Becking is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam. His research focuses on orthognathic surgery, craniofacial reconstruction, and imaging techniques in maxillofacial conditions. He has supervised 7 PhD theses and contributed to 110+ research outputs.
Research Interests: Becking’s work centers on surgical outcomes, implant design, and diagnostic imaging in maxillofacial surgery. Key areas include orthognathic surgery quality-of-life metrics, orbital reconstruction strategies, and mandibular growth modeling. He employs advanced 3D imaging and computational tools for clinical decision-making.
Grants & Advising: Supervised 7 PhD students. Active in academic outreach, delivering invited lectures on surgical complications, condylar hyperplasia treatment, and orthognathic surgery techniques since 2017. Collaborates with the MAGIC Amsterdam consortium for interdisciplinary mandibular research.
Labs/Teams: Leads the MAGIC Amsterdam consortium, developing open-source 3D growth models for mandibular anatomy and surgical planning.
