A.R. Siders is an Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the Biden School of Public Policy and the Disaster Research Center. She holds dual expertise as a lawyer and scientist, focusing on coastal relocation strategies for climate adaptation. Previously, she served as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Navy, addressing international climate and energy issues, and as Associate Director of Columbia University’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law. She is an interdisciplinary scholar combining legal, scientific, and policy perspectives to address climate challenges.

Research Interests: Dr. Siders studies the societal and ecological impacts of climate adaptation policies, particularly coastal relocation. Her work evaluates how such policies affect ecosystems, economies, risk profiles, and social justice, aiming to create equitable and scalable solutions. She employs machine learning and natural language processing to analyze adaptive capacity in communities.
Grants & Collaboration: She collaborates with Jesse Keenan (Harvard Graduate School of Design) on federally sponsored coastal relocation programs. Her research develops integrated assessment methods to guide practitioners in designing effective adaptation policies.
