Kimberly Oremus is an Associate Professor at the School of Marine Science and Policy, College of Earth, Ocean and Environment, University of Delaware. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and Biden School of Public Policy and Administration.

Her research focuses on natural resource economics, fisheries management, climate change adaptation, and international environmental agreements. Current projects include marine plastics policy analysis, econometric modeling of fisheries, and climate change impacts on coastal communities. She advises students in Environmental Economics, Marine Policy, and Environmental Science and Management programs.
Recent publications address critical issues like plastic bag policy effectiveness, shellfish aquaculture regulation, and cross-boundary larval dispersal. Her work has received recognition including the Outstanding Article Award in 2024.

As co-founder of the Birkenbach-Oremus Lab, she leads research on marine resource economics, bioeconomic modeling, and fisheries policy evaluation. The lab receives funding from Delaware Sea Grant, NOAA Fisheries, DNREC, and NRDC, supporting student training in fisheries economics and management.
