Dr. A. Jamie Saris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Maynooth University, with advanced degrees from the University of Chicago and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in medical and psychological anthropology, focusing on mental health, addiction, structural violence, and global health. His research spans Ireland, North America, and Africa, addressing topics like mental hospitals, substance abuse, and healthcare policy.
