A J Brown

Professor A J Brown is a prominent academic and anti-corruption advocate at Griffith University, serving as Professor of Public Policy & Law in the School of Government & International Relations since 2013. He leads the Centre for Governance & Public Policy’s Integrity Leadership and Public Trust program, specialising in public integrity, whistleblowing, and governance reform. His roles include Chair of Transparency International Australia and membership in global anti-corruption bodies like TI Australia’s board since 2010 and TI Global’s board (2017–2022). He was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2023 for contributions to law and public policy. His research focuses on public trust, federalism, and institutional reform, supported by significant grants like a $1.2M Australian Research Council project on public trust dynamics.

Professor Brown has led seven ARC-funded projects since 2005, including the landmark 'Australia's National Integrity System: The Blueprint for Reform' (2020). His advisory roles include the Commonwealth’s Expert Panels on Whistleblower Protection (2017–2019) and Constitutional Recognition of Local Government (2011). He holds fellowships from the Academy of Social Sciences and Australian Academy of Law.
