Dr Richard Morgan is an Assistant Professor in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour at Durham University Business School, affiliated with the Centre for Leadership and Followership. He holds a PhD in Management from Durham University (recipient of the Thesis Prize Award) and a Law degree from Durham University Law School. Previously, he was a Fellow in Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on leader development, exploring how identity evolves through cognitive processes like self-awareness and future leader self-imagery. Emerging projects examine integrating visionary and responsible leadership practices. Key interests include ethics, power dynamics, and autobiographical memory’s role in leadership. His publications address leadership identity measurement, memory’s influence on leadership processes, and motivational outcomes linked to future leader self-concepts. Awards include the Thesis Prize Award for his doctoral work on leader development methodologies. Dr Morgan contributes to academic discourse through collaborative research and serves on editorial boards, advancing evidence-based leadership practices. His work bridges psychological theory with organizational behavior, emphasizing practical applications in leader development programs.
