She investigates cooperative dynamics within teams, between teams, and designs team structures that elicit productive interdependence. As an expert in complex systems and emergence, she applies computational and simulation approaches to study organizational phenomena. Her work examines how simple interactions among individuals lead to complex group behaviors and outcomes, with particular attention to team problem-solving, resource allocation, and the effects of team structure on performance. Her extensive publication record reveals consistent themes in team cognition, cooperation dynamics, and complex systems approaches to organizational behavior. Over the past two decades, her research has evolved from examining basic cooperation mechanisms in social dilemmas to more complex investigations of multiteam systems, emergent properties in teams, and the application of computational modeling to organizational phenomena. Recent work emphasizes practical applications of team structure design to balance efficiency and diversity in problem-solving contexts.
