Adjunct Professor
Dale Stuckenbruck is an Adjunct Professor of Violin at Long Island University's School of Performing Arts and Assistant Director of the LIU Post Chamber Music Festival. He is a violinist with the Pierrot Consort, the faculty ensemble-in-residence at LIU Post, and has been a full adjunct professor since 1986. He is also Music Director at the Waldorf School of Garden City since 2011 and faculty at the Oyster Bay Music Festival and Songe d’Été en Musique. His research and performance interests center on violin performance, chamber music, and unique instruments such as the musical saw, Baroque violin, mandolin, and erhu. He is recognized internationally as a premier musical saw artist, with acclaimed performances and recordings, including George Crumb’s 'Ancient Voices of Children.' His work bridges classical, contemporary, and experimental music forms. Dale Stuckenbruck has performed as soloist and concertmaster with numerous orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Brooklyn Philharmonic, and Taipei City Symphony Orchestra. His performances have been featured in the New York Times, Strings Magazine, and other international publications. His scientific and artistic accolades include being a Grammy-nominated artist and receiving international acclaim for his innovative work on the musical saw. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Juilliard School of Music. He co-founded several youth music ensembles, including Kammermusik, the ECO orchestra of the Waldorf School of Garden City, and the Long Island Vegetable Orchestra. He has toured internationally since 1975 with pianist Heawon Kim, performing recitals across Asia, Europe, and South America.
