Associate Professor
Dr. Magda Donia is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. She holds a Ph.D. in Administration from Concordia University's John Molson School of Business, an M.Sc. from Concordia, and a B.A. in Political Science from McGill University. Her research focuses on organizational citizenship behaviors, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and employee motivation, with additional interests in cross-cultural management and peer feedback systems. Dr. Donia has been recognized with awards including the Best Student Paper Award (Administrative Sciences Association of Canada) and the Founders' Award (Society of Business Ethics). Her work explores topics such as the impact of abusive supervision on employee motivation, the relationship between CSR attributions and workplace outcomes, and the efficacy of peer feedback systems in education and global virtual teams. Research Interests: Individual/organizational citizenship behaviors, CSR, business ethics, employee motivation, peer evaluation systems, cross-cultural dynamics. Funded Research: Includes SSHRC grants on topics like service encounter toxicity, multicultural global virtual teams, and mental health disclosure at work. Teaching Areas: Cross-cultural management, human resources, organizational behavior. International Engagement: Collaborator in a multidisciplinary team providing scholarships to public school graduates in Brazil's northeastern region.
