Professor
Julian Little is Full Professor and Distinguished Research Chair in Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Control at the University of Ottawa's School of Epidemiology and Public Health. He holds visiting positions at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Prevention Research Institute in Lyon. His research program encompasses: Congenital anomalies and prenatal screening Psychosis trajectories and interventions Knowledge synthesis for public health guidelines Head and neck cancer outcomes Gene-environment interactions His publications demonstrate consistent focus on genetic epidemiology, perinatal outcomes, and evidence-based preventive healthcare. Recent work emphasizes large-scale population studies, gene-environment interactions, and methodological advances in evidence synthesis. As co-PI of the Ottawa Evidence Review and Synthesis Centre, he supports the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care in developing clinical guidelines for cancer screening, hypertension management, and mental health interventions. He maintains collaborations with international institutions including IUSS-Ferrara where he serves as Copernicus Visiting Scientist.
