Dr. Molly Ferguson is an Associate Professor of English and Affiliate Faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies at Ball State University. Her research focuses on contemporary Irish literature with emphases on gender, shame, and folklore reinterpretations. She contributes to interdisciplinary scholarship across Women’s Studies and Postcolonial Writing. PhD in English (University of Connecticut) MA in English (University of Connecticut) Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies (University of Connecticut) BA in English and Women’s Studies (Franklin & Marshall College) Her research interests include feminist reinterpretations of Irish folklore, queer narratives in contemporary Irish fiction, and the intersection of shame studies with narrative storytelling. Current projects include a book on feminist reimaginings of Irish folklore traditions. She also explores pedagogical innovations like integrating social media into feminist classrooms. Publications span journals such as New Hibernia Review , Irish University Review , and Journal of Postcolonial Writing , with thematic threads connecting migration narratives, urban fictions, and human rights in Irish theater. Her work bridges literary analysis with sociocultural critique, emphasizing marginalized voices and narrative subversion of traditional myths.
