Claudia Rene Wier is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts and Music at The Ohio State University. She holds a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from York University and has extensive professional experience as a lyric soprano and stage director in Germany. Her research focuses on 17th-century Venetian opera, operatic divas like Anna Renzi, and warrior queen roles in opera.
Education: PhD (York University), MFA (Eastern Michigan), MA (Bowling Green), MM (Bowling Green), BA (University of New Mexico). She completed a DAAD Scholarship internship in Berlin and was an Ontario Trillium Scholarship Fellow.
