annie ross is a Maya-Indigenous Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Her work bridges scholarship, art, and activism, focusing on environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and cultural preservation. She holds a PhD in Native American Studies from UC Davis and an MA in Native American Art History from the University of Washington. Ross teaches courses on Indigenous bioregionalisms, environmental justice, and testimonio as a remedial tool for political oppression.
Her research integrates art and academia, with exhibitions including land love land defense (2022) and Rain Snow Mountain Hu(man) (2011, permanent installation).
