Annie Ross

Dr. Annie Ross is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Social Science at the University of Queensland. Her work focuses on archaeology, cultural heritage management, and Indigenous knowledge systems. She has led collaborative projects involving Aboriginal communities in Australia, such as the Gummingurru Stone Arrangement Site Complex and K’gari (Fraser Island) heritage management. Ross’s research integrates material culture analysis with contemporary social issues, emphasizing decolonial methodologies and community engagement.

Her research interests span archaeological theory, Indigenous rights in heritage management, and environmental stewardship. Notable contributions include studies on rock art narratives in Yanyuwa Country and analyses of stone arrangement sites’ socio-spiritual significance.
