Yueming Yan

Dr. Yueming Yan is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK Law). She specializes in international trade law, international investment arbitration, dispute resolution, sustainable development, and China’s legal frameworks. Her research also encompasses comparative law and empirical legal studies.

• Education: PhD from McGill University Faculty of Law (dissertation focused on improving international investment law’s treatment of anti-corruption).
• Affiliations: Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Interest Group of the American Society of International Law (ASIL); peer-reviewer for the Journal of International Economic Law.

Her research explores balancing anti-corruption norms within international investment law and innovative dispute-resolution mechanisms. She has published in journals such as the Journal of International Economic Law, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, and Asian Journal of WTO & International Health Law and Policy, with works also appearing in edited collections and blogs like Kluwer Arbitration Blog.

• Professional Contributions: Designed training programs for global government officials on managing investment treaty commitments and multi-party dispute resolution.

Dr. Yan previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Global PhD Fellow at Singapore Management University’s Yong Pung How School of Law and Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy. She actively participates in global legal education and policy initiatives.
