Pasha L Hsieh is a Lee Kong Chian Professor of Law and Jean Monnet Chair at Singapore Management University's Yong Pung How School of Law. He holds a JD, LLM from University of Pennsylvania Law School, and a PhD in Political Science from the Free University of Brussels. His research focuses on international economic law, Asian legal studies, and ASEAN policy, with notable monographs published by Cambridge University Press. He has served in the WTO Appellate Body Secretariat and Shearman & Sterling LLP.
His work spans WTO law, green regionalism, and Indo-Pacific strategies, cited by Swiss Federal Supreme Court and UN ESCAP. Hsieh co-edited ASEAN Law in the New Regional Economic Order and serves on editorial boards of Journal of International Economic Law and Journal of World Investment & Trade. He has received SMU’s Lee Foundation Fellowship and Most Outstanding Legal Studies Teacher Award.
Grants include European Commission, Korea Foundation, and Sumitomo Foundation support. He advises on trade-sustainability issues for institutions like the European Parliament and OECD, and has held roles as Co-Chair of ASIL-Asia-Pacific Interest Group and Executive Council Member of Society of International Economic Law.
