William Kemperman is an Adjunct Professor of Percussion at the University of St. Thomas's College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Music, Film & Creative Enterprise. An active freelance percussionist in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, he performs regularly with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Vocal Essence, and Singers in Accord. His performance expertise spans orchestral percussion, drum set, cajon, congas, and dumbek, with collaborations including international Kirtan artists and local ensembles.
His teaching focuses on developing technical proficiency and musical expression across percussion instruments, working with students at all levels. Current research explores the integration of marimba performance with vocal techniques.
