Dr. Walter M. Hudson is a Professor at the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, part of the National Defense University in Washington, DC. A retired U.S. Army Colonel, he previously served as Senior Legal Advisor/Staff Judge Advocate for US Central Command (2012–2015) and ISAF Joint Command in Afghanistan (2011–2012). His career included deployments to Iraq, Somalia, Panama, Korea, and Germany. He retired from active duty in July 2019.

- Ph.D. in Military History from Kansas State University
- Graduate of U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and U.S. Army War College
Research & Publications: Focuses on strategic leadership, geoeconomic competition, and policy entrepreneurship. Authored the book Army Diplomacy: American Military Occupation and Foreign Policy After World War II (2015) and numerous articles/reviews in military and legal journals.
Licenses: Admitted to the bars of Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
