Pat Proctor

Colonel (Ret.) Pat Proctor, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Homeland Security program at Wichita State University. A U.S. Army veteran with over 25 years of service, he has held command and staff roles in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Jordan, including leadership during the Iraq "surge" strategy development under General Petraeus.

Proctor’s research focuses on military history, strategic communication, and homeland security. His work includes analyzing the ideological foundations of prolonged conflicts and developing simulation models for military training. He has contributed to academic journals such as Parameters, Military Review, and Journal of Strategic Security, alongside consumer publications like Armchair General.
