Vivien K. G. Lim

Prof. Vivien K. G. Lim is a distinguished Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), holding joint appointments in the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine) and the Department of Management & Organization (NUS Business School). She also has courtesy appointments in the Department of Psychology (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and the Institute for Engineering Leadership (College of Design & Engineering). A pioneering academic, she was the first woman promoted to Full Professor at NUS Business School and ranked among the top 2% global scientists by Stanford University (2020–present).

Her research focuses on job insecurity, cyberloafing, workplace health, and technology’s impact on work. She has published extensively in top journals like Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Applied Psychology, with media coverage in outlets like the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. Lim has received numerous awards, including the Teaching Excellence Award (three-time) and membership in NUS’s Teaching Honour Roll.

Prof. Lim leads executive programs such as the Women in Leadership Program and serves on advisory boards for Human Capital Singapore and Applied Psychology journals. Her consultancy work spans organizations like CA Technologies and the Ministry of Defense. Current research explores commuting’s psychological effects, cyberloafing dynamics, and HR practices’ well-being impacts.
