Vincent Meelberg

Vincent Meelberg is a Senior Lecturer and researcher affiliated with Radboud University Nijmegen (Department of Cultural Studies) and the Academy for Creative and Performing Arts in Leiden and The Hague. His academic background spans double bass performance, musicology, philosophy, and sound design.

• Studied double bass at Conservatoire of Rotterdam
• MA in Musicology and Philosophy at Utrecht University
• MSc in Sound Design at Napier University Edinburgh
• PhD in Literary Studies at Leiden University on musical narrativity

His research focuses on the interplay between sound, interaction, and storytelling, with publications covering musical affect, improvisation, and auditory culture. He also practices as a double bassist in jazz ensembles and as a sound designer.
