Ian Kinnaman

Ian Kinnaman is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at the College of Wooster, teaching double bass and electric bass to students. A bassist, educator, and composer originally from Maryland, he performs across jazz, classical, and folk contexts.

• Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Youngstown State University, studying under Dr. David Morgan

His artistic practice emphasizes double/electric bass performance and composition, demonstrated through appearances at the ORMACO World Tour of Music and Tri-C Jazz Festival. He has collaborated with renowned artists including Jamey Haddad, Dominick Farinacci, and Amanda Powell, and contributed to recordings like Alla Boara’s Le Tre Sorelle. His instructional focus bridges technical mastery with genre-specific improvisation and ensemble techniques.
