Ulrike Hatzer

Univ.-Prof. Ulrike Hatzer is a Professor of Theatre Pedagogy and Director of Studies for the Master's program 'Applied Theatre. Artistic Theater Practice & Society' at Mozarteum University, Salzburg. She leads research-based theatre projects focusing on activism, political art, and urban development. Her work bridges academic and artistic practices, emphasizing participatory methods and societal engagement.

Education:

• Studied Theater Studies, Philosophy, and Theater Education at Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich
• Studied Drama with focuses on Directing, Puppetry, and Theatre & Community at Trinity College Dublin

Research Interests: Conceptual theatre development, performative activism, political art theory/practice, and the interplay between urban planning and performing arts. Her projects often involve marginalized communities and explore identity through collaborative creation.
