Travis Browning

Travis Browning, M.D., is a Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Vice Chair of Strategic Analytics for the Department of Radiology. He serves as a Medical Director of Medical Informatics at Parkland Memorial Hospital. His clinical expertise spans abdominal and pelvic imaging, fluoroscopy, and non-obstetric ultrasound. Dr. Browning holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Texas Christian University and an M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical School, completing residency and fellowship training in diagnostic radiology and abdominal imaging there.

His research focuses on clinical informatics and healthcare technology, including electronic medical record systems, voice recognition tools, and 3-D imaging applications. He has led projects optimizing Parkland's IT infrastructure and electronic peer review systems. Dr. Browning chairs the Radiology Campus Collaborative Committee and participates in multiple national organizations like the American College of Radiology and Society of Abdominal Radiology.

He has authored/co-authored over 10 peer-reviewed articles on topics like structured reporting, telemedicine, and AI applications in radiology. His work emphasizes improving diagnostic accuracy and workflow efficiency through technology integration. Dr. Browning is also a reviewer for journals such as Abdominal Imaging and contributes to medical education through residency program committees.
