Tom Cody

Tom Cody is a Professor of Educational Psychology at Western Illinois University (WIU), affiliated with the College of Education & Human Services and the Department of Educational Studies. He joined WIU in 1995 and serves as the graduate coordinator for the Master of Science in Education programs in Educational Leadership and Interdisciplinary Studies. Dr. Cody holds a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (1995), following earlier degrees from the same institution (M.A. 1988; B.A. 1986).

His research focuses on classroom management strategies, bullying in schools, adverse student behaviors, and leadership in educational and sports contexts. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as EDS 303 (Classroom Management), EDS 500 (Research Methods), and EDS 570 (Seminar in College Teaching). His professional experience includes roles in student affairs, NCAA athletic administration, and campus recreation.

Dr. Cody actively participates in university and college committees and contributes to program coordination. His work bridges educational theory and practice, emphasizing practical applications in teaching and leadership.
