Tiffany Silverman

Tiffany Silverman serves as Senior Instructor and Director of Fine Arts at The Citadel's Department of English, Fine Arts & Communications within the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. As the institution's first full-time academic faculty member in Fine Arts, she has shaped arts education since 2008.

Her research focuses on effects of art on visual perception skills and mindfulness in student and veteran populations. She pioneered The Citadel's Fine Arts minor in 2014, now one of the largest minors at the institution, and developed innovative courses including Photography and Visual Perception.

Her notable programming includes the Monuments Men event with Robert Edsel and Bill Murray (1,500 attendees), Mary Edna Fraser's campus batik installation, Mary Whyte's veteran portrait book launch, and the 'Charleston Strong' Emanuel 9 memorial mural. She previously served as Adjunct Professor in Arts Management at College of Charleston and Director of Education at Gibbes Museum of Art.
