Thomas DeMarchi is an Instructor II in the Department of Language & Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), part of the College of Arts & Sciences. He has been at FGCU since 2004, following six years at SUNY Cortland. He directs the Sanibel Island Writers Conference and focuses on creative writing, fiction, and poetry. His work appears in journals like The Writer's Chronicle, The Miami Herald, and The Southeast Review, alongside his 2019 book Möbius Strips and Other Stories.
Teaching interests include Composition, Creative Writing, and Narrative Techniques. He has received awards such as the Senior Instructor Teaching Excellence Award (2011) and the Angel of the Arts Leadership Award (2009). He also secured multiple grants for the Sanibel Island Writers Conference.
