Jesse Millner is an Instructor III in the Department of Language & Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), part of the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds an MFA from Florida International University (1997) and a BA from the University of Virginia (1975). His research and teaching interests focus on creative writing, poetry composition, and unique themes like leopard frogs in literature. Millner has published extensively, including two full-length poetry collections—Memory's Blue Sedan (2019), Dispatches from the Department of Supernatural Explanation (2012), and The Neighborhoods of My Past Sorrow (2010, winner of the 2010 Florida Book Awards bronze medal)—as well as seven poetry chapbooks. His work appears in prominent literary journals such as River Styx, The Florida Review, and The Best American Poetry 2013.
