Terri Friedman is an Associate Professor in the Sculpture Program at California College of the Arts. She holds an MFA from Claremont Graduate School and BA from Brown University. Her research examines psychological states through textile-based works that incorporate abstraction and text.
Research explores brain chemistry's influence on emotional states, political anxiety, and societal instability through woven compositions. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Shoshana Wayne Gallery (LA), CUE Art Foundation (NY), and Guerrero Gallery (SF). Her work is included in Phaidon's Vitamin T: Threads and Textiles in Contemporary Art.
Significant awards include the ARTADIA Award and CUE Art Foundation Grant. Public collections include Denver Art Museum, de Young Museum, and Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
