Teresa Marques is a Professor and Head of the Department of International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), where she also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the postgraduate program in Social Sciences. She held visiting professorships at Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris 1) during the 2019/2020 academic year and at the École Normale Supérieure de Paris during the 2022/2023 academic year.
She earned her PhD in Political Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 2011, including a doctoral internship in Sociology of International Relations at Sciences Po in Paris.
Her research spans three core disciplines with specialized thematic focus:

- Political Science: Analyzing political transitions and comparative systems
- Philosophy: Integrating theoretical perspectives on migration and marginality
