Susan Scachitti

Susan Scachitti is a Full-Time Professor and Department Chair at the School of Engineering, University of Dayton, specializing in Engineering Management, Systems, and Technology. With a 25-year academic career at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) as Department Chair and Associate Dean, she transitioned to her current role after a decade in manufacturing as an Industrial Engineer and production manager.

• Education: BS in Industrial Engineering Technology (University of Dayton), MBA in Management (North Central College)

Her research focuses on operational systems engineering, enterprise optimization, and quality management adaptation across manufacturing, healthcare, and service sectors. She teaches foundational Industrial Engineering topics such as Six Sigma methodologies, Lean thinking, and process improvement.
