Sue Baylis

Sue Baylis is a Senior Lecturer in Children & Families at the University of Worcester, with over 25 years of experience working with children and families in educational and social care settings. She specializes in supporting children with ASD and developing communication strategies for nonverbal children. Baylis holds an MA in Special and Inclusive Education and a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. She became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2013 and continues her advocacy as a governor at a school for children with special educational needs.

Her research focuses on creating positive experiences for children, emphasizing self-worth and agency. Values-driven approaches underpin her work in early childhood intervention and inclusive education practices.
